Last week the cross country teams traveled to Knoxville to participate in the Volunteer Cross Country Classic held at Victor Ashe Park.  When the dust had settled in the girl’s race, junior Jacquelin Pitcock was crowned the individual champion with a time of 19:36,  beating the second place finisher by 23 seconds.  Overall the girls finished in 7th place as a team.  Other performances for the girls included:  Becky Chillinsky 26th (21:45), Andrea Spencer 51st (23:33), Abigail Pippenger 53rd (23:37), Megan Pace 78th (25:04), Elizabeth Triplett 82nd (25:41), Marissa Mallett 104th (29:39), and Kendra Greene 107th (30:15).  On the boys side Jake Curtis finished 55th with a time of 18:33, Trent Rutledge followed him in 65th with a time of 18:52, and Chris Aguilar finished 121st with a time of 21:52.  Next up for the cross country teams will be the Jesse Owens Invitational at the Oakville Indian Mounds in Moulton, AL.
